Folks,

I'm seeing a large spike in volume at about the same time as I execute either the VU or FS commands. As I'm watching output from the sketch over the serial link, the timing's a bit approximate.

The headphone jack I'm using is hooked up to the SPK solder pads. I'm using this as a sniffer for foxhunting, so the squelch is open.

Is this unavoidable RDA behavior, or is there something I could do to avoid the blast? The workaround is to be sure the headphones aren't right on the ears when starting the sketch, but I'm forgetful...

Maybe try closing the squelch (SQ9) before issuing the VU or FS command then opening it back up afterwards.

I'm not sure that I've noticed this behavior but I don't generally operate open-squelch.
