I have not yet decoded a PSK-31 signal. I am fishing around the bands in the PSK-31 areas. I have tried many signals but get no decode. I have noticed that the signals are showing up in the display as multiple peaks (or multiple paths in the WF display). One signal will have 3 or more peaks, none of which decode. Of course I could be looking at non-psk signals but I have tried so many that it seems unlikely that I would get one decode. Unless PSK-31 has fallen out of favor since I last tried digital modes...

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Rich

OK, I have decode some signals now. It seems I was not pausing on a signal long enough after tuning the AF line. I can decode weaker signals but not very strong signals.

Hi Rich,

What band(s) are you using? Mine works very well except on 40M in the evening when the RX is getting overloaded.

Jim.

Jim,
So far I have decoded on 20M with a QSO to Japan. :-) I will keep exploring other bands. Is there ongoing development on the PSK-31 portion of the firmware?

Hi Rich,
Glad you are having some success on PSK31.
There was a focus on the development of PSK31 early on in the STM32SDR. In fact it was the driving force that made it happen. What more do you think it needs?
When I tested that mode out several years ago it seemed to perform as well as could be expected hooked to a Softrock. Back then the keyboard was the limiting factor. Once we switched to the PS2 Keyboard things seemed to work well.
Now that we have it working with the RS-HFIQ there may be things to consider.
Future developments will be driven by a match of demand with resources.
Happy holidays
Dave

Dave,
The more I use it the more I don't think the PSK-31 portion needs attention. There is a learning curve that I am still on.

Now I have discovered that my furnaces motor controller is putting RF hash on 20m, this could be hard to solve...

Thanks

Rich

Rich,
Always interested in comments and perspectives.
Once you figure out all the macro features I think most of the functionality is there. Except logging the contact ;-)
Good luck on finding the noise.
Enjoy

Any plans to incorporate digital modes besides PSK-31?

Thanks

cw encode or just decode would be cool.

I have only had luck with PSK31 on 20m. I see a lot of other digital signals though, perhaps RTTY.
