Hi Congrats on designing us a great project! Now question: Is it okay to use the hex file "DSP-610 PIC18.hex" from the google site dated 8/27/2012 9:41pm. I installed the MPLAB, like Bill Laakkonen (N4BKT) listed, but with XP and the compile yielded very different data in the hex file and very weird references to your computer's drives in the map file and after 4 hours figured might should just ask if that is the proper one of your files to use.
Thanks WD0BWQ

I know that the hex files are OK and the source code is fine. Trying to reuse map files can be tricky on different PC's. My advice to folks trying to get MPLAB up and running is to un-install all Microchip software, install MPLAB version 8.something, then install the C30 and C18 compliers. Then try opening the DSP-610 workspace, if it doesn't work, try creating a new project with the wizard and adding in the files. The wizard generally knows where the tools are located.

Jim.
